About Shauna-marie

Originally from Orillia, in Ontario, Shauna-marie has worked in Canada’s North in Nunavut, Yukon Territories, British Columbia, and Ontario.

With over 35 years’ experience, she is a subject-matter specialist in Canadian Health Care, with an intimate understanding of health care and home-support systems, respite care, assisted death, palliative care, and end-of-living.

With a keen interest in dispute resolution and excellence in service delivery, Shauna now helps her clients understand, navigate, and resolve their family challenges and conflicts, especially with older adults.

Background and Career

First qualified as a Registered Nurse in Nanaimo and Victoria, B.C., Shauna-marie has spent her career amassing and applying extensive experience in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field. With her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Shauna-marie is trained to apply evidence-based rigor to analysis and problem solving.

Shauna-marie is a certified Canadian Management Professional and has considerable experience in managing subject-specialized human resources in the complex labour environments of Canadian hospitals and community health systems.

A dedicated devotee of lifelong learning, Shauna-marie now holds a Master’s degree in Conflict Studies. Additionally, she is professionally trained as an Accredited Intergenerational Mediator of the Ontario Association for Family Mediation.

She combines her STEM training, her management experience, her practical knowledge from working in health care across Canada, and her dispute-resolution talents in conflict resolution.

Uniquely qualified, Shauna-marie provides holistic, empathetic, sensitive, and insightful support and guidance for older adults and their families.
